Your “research” is invalidated by testing two variables in the same experiment, and you didn’t test coffee. It was decaffeinated coffee, which is a different thing than the headline and your conclusion asserts.

Also, there are two decaffeinating processes for coffee and you failed to even mention them, let alone explain which one you were drinking. One uses formaldehyde (the most common one) to extract the caffeine.

As a former participant of a couple of fad health crazes, I keep up on the news about the ones I’ve tried. You should know that the latest research suggests that intermittent fasting leads to a higher risk of heart disease. I think that I’ve seen a couple of the risks and benefits of coffee you included here are myth or urban legend.

Whatever you consume, the quality matters, and if it was a major brand of decaffeinated coffee delivered in a supermarket in a can, that was a terrible quality choice to experiment with. I recommend a small batch local roaster with Swiss-water decaffeinated whole beans stored in a freezer.
