Blogging A-to-Z Challenge

It’s that time again. Time to push myself and do hard things.

This time, instead of just writing a blog post every day — or as I did a couple years ago a short story every day— I’ve decided to write with a partner and tell stories around the periphery of the world he and I created for our epic fantasy story.

The world is Gioveda, and the city is Hatra. In this year’s A-to-Z challenge the deaths on that world will be much gentler and suggestive than visceral, but they will happen. It’s a very challenging place to live, but we find people with the will to survive.

These are not just stories from my head, but from ours. We have a process, and we’re planning to write more about that. We trust the other to work with us, to preserve the story above style, and accept that our voices are different, if somewhat similar, and let our collaboration shine above our individual abilities.

My writing partner, Andre Fleuette, and I write a piece by ourself, then pass it to the other for edits and comments. We then pass it back for final edits before posting, so it’s a lot of work every day to bring these stories to you.

It’s our hope that you’ll drop in and check out the scenes and vignettes from around the world of Gioveda and someday enjoy the full story of the magic there.
